Gemma Marie Latvala, daughter of Vanessa (Ervin) and Chris Latvala of Tulsa, has been selected as Jenks Public Schools’ eighth-grade Native American Student of the Year. This prestigious honor recognizes Latvala’s outstanding academic achievement, leadership and positive contributions to her school and Native American community.

In addition to excelling in the classroom, Latvala is an accomplished violinist and talented artist. Her dedication to both academics and the arts reflects her creativity, perseverance and commitment to excellence.

Latvala is the granddaughter of Connie Ervin of Hartshorne, and the great-granddaughter of the late Hawk Ervin, whose legacy continues to inspire her commitment to hard work and achievement.
