Jackie Lewis Allen, 83, of Boswell, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 11, 1943, in Boswell, Oklahoma, to the late John Lewis Allen and the late Norene (Sanders) Darling.
On October 28, 1977, Jackie married the love of his life, Vicky (Stevens) Allen. Together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family, sharing nearly five decades of cherished memories. Jackie was the definition of a hardworking man. He dedicated more than 70 years of his life to the logging industry, earning the respect of everyone who knew him with his unmatched work ethic. Even well into his later years, he could work circles around people half his age. He later joined the Choctaw Nation and proudly retired from the Hugo Ranch. When he wasn’t working, Jackie found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether he was fishing at Hugo Dam or Muddy Boggy, sitting quietly in his deer stand, or tending to the beautiful gardens he grew each year, he found peace in God’s creation. He had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life and loved sharing them with those around him. Above all else, Jackie was devoted to his family. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who treasured every moment spent with those he loved. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them and watching his family grow through the generations. One of Jackie’s greatest traditions was the annual Boswell Homecoming. Every year, he looked forward to gathering family and friends for his famous fish fry and family reunion. He spent the entire year catching fish to ensure there would be enough for everyone, because to Jackie, feeding people was another way of showing his love. Those gatherings became treasured memories that his family will carry with them forever.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Vicky Allen; his daughters, Tanya Impson and husband Aaron, and Jonie Brown and husband Stacy; his brother, George Allen and wife Liz; his grandchildren, Preston Egan, Blaine Brown, Gavin Summerville and wife Attalee, Aryza Impson and husband Kalan, Darin Brown and wife Jacy, Jaden Brown, Khloe Impson, and Miranda Allen; eight great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Lewis Allen Jr.; his parents, John Lewis Allen and Norene (Sanders) Darling; his brothers, Johnny Allen, Jerry Allen, and Terry Allen; and his sisters, Sue Lindamood and Hazel Larkins.
To those who knew him best, Jackie will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love of the outdoors, the pride he took in providing for his family, and the way he brought everyone together around a table filled with fish he had spent the year catching. His greatest joy wasn’t the hunt or the catch—it was sharing those moments with the people he loved. His legacy will live on in every story told, every garden planted, every fishing trip taken, and every family gathering that carries on the traditions he loved so dearly. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his love, his strength, and the values he instilled in his family will endure for generations. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
