Dalani Hornbuckle was selected as the Tricia Saunders Award winner for her outstanding performance as a wrestler and student. One wrestler is selected from each state. Tricia Saunders was a pioneer of women’s wrestling, winning four world championships for the United States.
Dalani won three state championships and was named the outstanding wrestler of the state tournament twice. She graduated with a GPA above 4.0. She was also the Supergirl 64 champion and USA Southern Plains champion, and helped Rogers High School win three dual state championships and two state tournament championships. She will compete at Carl Albert State College next fall.
She is the great-great-granddaughter of original roll member William Free and a former District 4 Junior Miss Choctaw Princess.
