David Lowell Keyes

David Lowell Keyes, 80, was born on June 26, 1945, in Hugo, Oklahoma to John Lowell Keyes and Jean (Skelton) Keyes. He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was born and raised in Hugo and graduated eighth grade at Goodland Academy. He attended Hugo High School through his junior year, at which time he was drafted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served two tours in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge in 1969, David returned home to Hugo for several years and later made his home in Wright City in 1981 where he lived out his life. David loved his dogs and going on walks with them. He loved to help people around his church and would mow lawns for the older people in his community who were no longer able to get out and do it themselves. David often went out of his way to help anyone in need. He also enjoyed visiting and studying with the Jehovah’s Witness friends he made that would come by to share the good news of the Kingdom with him. David had a true heart of gold, and he will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.

David is survived by his brothers, Todd Keyes of Wright City, OK and Larry Keyes and wife, Debrah of Dallas, TX; nieces, Lisa Emmons, Tricia Keyes and Jeanalla Keyes; nephews, Jacob Keyes and Wyatt Keyes; great nieces and nephews, Sydnee Emmons, Emily Emmons, Easton Emmons, Jayden Emmons, Sophia Keyes, Eva Keyes and Isiah Keyes along with many other family, friends and loved ones.
