
Clara Jean Jones was born on January 30, 1947, in Snow, OK to Albert and Rhoda Jones. She passed from this life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Haskell, OK at the age of 79 years.
Clara grew up in Snow, OK. She attended school in Clayton, OK. She eventually moved to Antlers where she met and married her husband Reverend Donald Jones. Clara and Don married in October of 1964 and were married for 55 years. They went on to have four children.
Clara worked as a sewing machine operator and drove the Headstart bus for the Seminole Nation. She retired from the Broken Arrow Public School System to care for her husband full-time due to illness.
Clara was a devoted servant of God. She could be seen working with the UMW at each of her husband’s appointed churches. She also continued her ministry even after her husband’s retirement and ultimately his passing serving as a Lay Leader in her home church in Snow, OK. Jean also served on the OIMC SE District Finance Committee. Clara was always willing to serve the Lord in any way she could when she was able.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Donald Jones, son Chris Jones, parents Albert and Rhoda Jones, sisters: Lynn Johnson, Liza Alexander and Caroline Carter, sister/niece, Delores Jones, brothers: John Baker and Wilburn Jones, and sister-in-law Sue Jones.
She is survived by her children: 2 sons; Donny Jones and Timothy Jones both of Haskell, OK, 1 daughter; Kay Jones of Haskell, 2 grandchildren; Andrew Jones of Durant, OK; Skyler and husband Jason Tucker of Cypress, TX, 2 great grandchildren; Remington Jones of Moore, OK, and Leighton Tucker of Cypress, TX, 1 brother Abraham Jones of Moyers, OK, 1 sister Nancy Peters of Antlers, OK as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins along with numerous longtime friends and church family members.
