Wanema Noel was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on April 27, 1944, to Edmund and Victoria (Mathews) Noel. She peaceably passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Mustang, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Victoria Noel, her brothers Leo, Wayne, and Lawrence, and her sister Mary.
She is survived by her sister Joann, her children Camellia, Douglas, and Gwendolyn, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Wanema graduated from Vian High School and earned her college degree from Bacone College. She was baptized as a teenager. She worked for 30 years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and after retiring spent her final years between her family in Florida and Oklahoma.
