Joe Lee Mose

Joe Lee Mose, 83, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, of natural causes at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by loving friends. Joe was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation (full-blooded) and had 44 years of sobriety. Before his sobriety, he rode the rails up and down the West Coast. He moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in his late thirties, became sober and furthered his education. Joe was considered a respected icon of his neighborhood, spreading laughter and friendship to everyone. He enjoyed cribbage, doted on his cats and was quick with humor.

Joe was born on May 14, 1942, in Oklahoma, the son of Guss Mose and Mary (Lewis) Mose. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Winston and sisters Yvonne London and Mary Mae Jaimes. Joe is survived by sister Wanell Wallace and brothers Joel Lee Mose, David Wallace and Jerry Wallace. He also leaves behind many countless devoted friends that miss him immensely
