Janice Crawford-McGee

Janice Crawford McGee, age 69, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, September 17, 1955, to Floyd John and Helen Alberta (Robinson) Shields, at Atoka, OK. Janice passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sallisaw, OK.

She attended and graduated from Atoka High School with the Class of ’74. She then attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Janice was a Customer Representative for Customer Links.

In 1989 Janice and Wallace McGee became a couple and were married on Sunday, September 19, 2004, in Atoka, Oklahoma. They spent 32 years together before his passing on January 4, 2018.

Janice was a member of the 4th Ward Church of Christ. She was active in her book club and in the Choctaw Nation. She was a part of the planning and zoning for the city. She loved traveling, singing, cross word puzzles, playing bingo, family Sunday dinner, and visiting with her family. 

Janice is survived by her son, Cameron Crawford Sr. and wife Bobbi of Sallisaw, OK; grandchildren, Infinity Crawford and fiance Ty Smith of Baytown, TX, Cameron Crawford Jr. and wife Maya of Sallisaw, OK, Trevor Crawford of Sallisaw, OK; great grandchildren, Zaria Smith of Baytown, TX, Elias Smith of Baytown, TX; siblings, Vernola Mosley of Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley Arnold of Atoka, OK, Faye Burdex of Atoka, OK, Steve Shields of Atoka, OK, Sherry Brown of Oklahoma City, OK, Kim Washington and husband Crandell of Stringtown, OK, Sonya Matthews and husband Lorenzo of Ft. Worth, TX, Vanoy Shields of Atoka, OK, Crandall Shields and wife Gloria of Ft. Worth, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved family members. 

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd John and Helen Alberta (Robinson) Shields; husband, Wallace McGee; son, Donald Ray Collins Jr.; siblings, Clifford Madden, Ruby (Betts) Walter, Floyd Shields Jr., Darrell Shields, Lucky Shields, Gloria Doris, Jimmy Leroy
