Walter Haskell Lancaster, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on September 30th, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on March 28, 1933, in Calera, Oklahoma, Haskell was the Son of Victor and Lois (Thorton) Lancaster. He graduated from Zillah High School in Zillah, Washington, in 1951 and married the love of his life, Carole (Pruitt) Lancaster, on May 2, 1953. Together, they shared 72 wonderful years of marriage.
Haskell proudly served in the National Guard, and his unit was called into active duty during the Korean War. Following his service, he settled in Portland, Oregon, where he worked for the State of Oregon Division of Grain for 22.5 years. He later continued his career with the Federal Agricultural Division of Grain for another 18 years before retiring.
In 1995, Haskell and Carole moved to Philomath, Oregon, to be closer to their daughter and two granddaughters. He embraced retirement with joy, spending his days enjoying the outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, Haskell was known for keeping the freezer full and sharing his bounty with loved ones.
Haskell is survived by his devoted wife, Carole, of Philomath; daughters Sunny Dodds, Sue (and husband Lee Miller), Kathy Lancaster, Jean High, and Patty Gagnet -all of Philomath; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Don Lancaster of Grant, Oklahoma.
His legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will be cherished by all who knew him.
