Sammie Kay Beshirs of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on Tuesday, July 8, 1947, in Caddo, Oklahoma to Willie “Granny Bill” Myrtle (Braudrick) and Sam Houston Armstrong.
She was raised in Caddo, Oklahoma but graduated high school in 1965 at Colbert High School in Colbert, Oklahoma. Sammie married John Beshirs on November 5, 1986, in Denison, Texas.
Sammie enjoyed fishing, playing Yahtzee and bingo, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie “Granny Bill” Myrtle (Braudrick) and Sam Houston Armstrong; brothers Dick Armstrong, Kenneth Armstrong, Laith Armstrong; sisters Blanche Williams, Bobbie Stillwell, Ethel Peters, Midge Ellis; beloved friends Doris Purcell, and Sally Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter Lisa Ann Elliott; sons Jason Blake Shoemake, Chad Shoemake; stepdaughter Tyanna Dishroom; grandchildren Brooke Nicole Elliott, Tommy Espinoza Jr., Zackery Blake Shoemake, Madison Blake Morris; great-grandchildren Zayden Dakoda Woodruff, Brinley River Shoemake; special friends Pamala Murphree, Tammy Davenport, Shelly Elliott; many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family and friends.
