Ruthie was a lifelong resident of Lamar County. She married her loving husband, Charles Fleming, on March 8, 1985 at the Court House in Paris, Texas. She later began working in the cafeterias in those same nursing homes until retiring to stay home to care for her grandchildren. In her spare time, Ruthie always enjoyed staying busy. She enjoyed traveling, doing puzzles and was always on the hunt for a good garage sale.

Family was the cornerstone of Ruthie’s world. She was fiercely loyal, always putting their needs and happiness above her own. Her love for her family was evident in the joy she found in spending time with them. Ruthie’s kitchen was the heart of her home, where she expressed her love through the meals. Celebrations and get togethers were Ruthie’s specialty, and she ensured that each family milestone was marked with joy and togetherness. Above all else, Ruthie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Her passing has left a void in the lives of her family, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of the people who loved her.
