Patricia Ann Crowder, a cornerstone of the Mexia community and a beloved matriarch, passed away on March 12, 2026, just shy of her 78th birthday.

Born on March 23, 1948, to Bennie and Helen Caldwell, Pat dedicated her life to her family and her career at Mexia ISD. Over 38 years of service, she became a familiar and supportive face to generations of Blackcats, leaving an enduring mark on the school she loved.

Pat’s greatest pride was her family. She was the devoted mother of Christopher (wife Jo), Stacy (wife Holly), Damon (wife April), and Corey. She was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Throughout her final journey, Pat was walked home by her loving sister, Ava, whose selfless devotion and tender care served as a profound testament to their unbreakable bond.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Caldwell; her son, Stacy Crowder; her sister, Gwen McKay; her brother, Terry Caldwell; and niece Jaime McKay.

Her legacy continues through her mother, Helen Caldwell; her children and their spouses; her twelve grandchildren: Cameron, Delaney, Caitlin, Emily, J, Josh, Chloe, Sophie, Reese, Merrit, Sadie, and Josie; and her two great-grandchildren, Zayden and Grace.

Known for her steady heart and devotion to those she loved, Pat will be deeply missed by her family, former colleagues, and the Mexia community.
