Born on June 8, 1953, in Wright City, Oklahoma, Nick was a man of honor, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Nick’s journey began as a proud member of the Choctaw Indian tribe, a heritage he held close to his heart throughout his life. His early years in Oklahoma were filled with the love and guidance of his parents, Albert and Genese (Columbus) Tom, who preceded him in death. Nick’s life was one of dedication and service, which was exemplified by his distinguished career in the U.S. Army. He retired as a platoon sergeant, having spent years in infantry as well as a aviation maintenance specialist ensuring the safety and readiness of military aircraft. His interests were a reflection of his character – patient, thoughtful, and endlessly curious.
