Joe Hardy passed away on July 29, 2025, in Poteau, Oklahoma, at the age of 47. Born on October 16, 1977, in Talihina, Oklahoma to parents, Harvey Hardy Jr. and Lottie Flanary.
Joe’s life was one of passion and curiosity. He relished the time spent with his family and his feline companions, often found tinkering on various projects in his garage. His love for travel took him to many places, always with family by his side, exploring different types of museums and instilling a sense of wonder in his grandbabies. A connoisseur of good whiskey, Joe also enjoyed the thrill of the roulette tables, and the solace found in music. His eclectic interests were a testament to his zest for life. More than his hobbies, Joe will be remembered for his character. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need. His courage was as much a part of him as his gentle smile, and he protected those he loved with a fierce determination that was both comforting and inspiring.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Hardy, Jr., and his grandparents, Harvey Hardy Sr. and Mary Hardy and his sister, April Goines.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Monica Hardy of the home; his mother, Lottie Flanary of Poteau, OK; his children, Jarrod Hardy, Jessica Mendez, Jarred Mendez, and Jourdan Mendez; his sister, Sarah Trusty as well as his brother, Justin James. He was a proud papa to his grandchildren, Ezra Urban and Kai Lyons, who will grow up hearing tales of their grandfather’s adventures and love. A host of other family and friends.
