Jimmy Lehew

Jimmy Allen Lehew was born on October 6, 1942, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, and passed into eternity on July 31, 2025, in Oklahoma City. He was the beloved son of Mary (Tovar) and Lewis Lehew. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many young men and women whose lives he impacted through decades of faithful ministry.

Jimmy dedicated his life to serving others through his work as Director of the Baptist Student Union (BSU) at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Cameron University in Lawton. He graduated from Cameron University with a bachelor’s degree and later attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to his campus ministry, Jimmy served as pastor and interim pastor for several churches throughout the Lawton area. Each summer, he could be found at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly in Davis, Oklahoma, where he led the Safety Patrol. Jimmy viewed this role not just as a responsibility, but as a meaningful ministry—one that allowed him to guide, protect, and support others.

Jimmy will be remembered as a true servant, a compassionate shepherd, and a trusted mentor. The number of lives touched by his ministry is immeasurable and may never be fully known this side of heaven.

Jimmy is survived by his sister, Judy Miles, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, soulmate, Kay Clopton, Oklahoma City and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister, Rosemary Wallace, and brothers, Wayne and Dean Lehew.
