Esman Durant

Esman Durant, 63, of Sherwood, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Paris Regional Health in Paris, Texas. He was born on Sunday, October 15, 1961, to Olen Dixon and Maude Billy Durant in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Esman was a strong, devoted, and God-fearing man whose life reflected his faith, love for family, and unwavering dedication to others. As the pastor of Agape Church in Broken Bow for seven years, he faithfully served the Lord and his community, always lifting up others in prayer and leading with a humble and loving heart.

A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Esman’s love for his family was the foundation of everything he did. He joyfully sang Choctaw hymns and covered his loved ones in constant prayer. His grandchildren were the light of his life—his pride and joy—and he made sure they knew how deeply they were loved.

Known affectionately as “Easy” by his coworkers, Esman worked for 26 years at US Motors in Mena as a dedicated forklift driver. His work ethic, kindness, and easygoing spirit earned the respect and friendship of all who knew him.

One of Esman’s greatest passions was softball. Whether playing, coaching, or cheering from the sidelines, the ballpark was his second home. He and his beloved wife, Connie, spent countless birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays on the field, sharing their love for the game and each other.
Esman lived a life of purpose, faith, and love. He was a steady presence, a fierce protector, and a true servant of God. He will be remembered for his strength, his laughter, his dedication, and the deep love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in every life he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Esman was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Velma Jean Durant
