Elmer Louis Ardese, affectionately known as “Moose”, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Pushmataha Hospital in Antlers, Oklahoma.

Elmer was born on August 27, 1952, in Talihina, Oklahoma to Joseph Ardese and Agnes (Wade) Ardese. Elmer attended the Haskell Indian School and Panola High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Elmer worked the oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, and all over the United States for over 40 years. He also was truck driver, and a Latimer County Sheriff’s Deputy for a few years.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Ardese; stepdaughter, Carri Lyddon and husband Nathan; brother, Mike Griffitts and wife, Lisa; sister, Rosalie Ardese; cousins, Jim Ardese, Bob and Kate Stancliff; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Agnes Ardese; brothers: Jimmy Joe, Anthony, Carl, Vincent, and Joseph Ardese; and nephews: Clayton Ardese, and Joseph Ardese.
