Donna Bishop

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Donna Wood Bishop of Rockwall, TX, who left us on March 7, 2025, at the age of 74. She passed peace- fully, surrounded by the love of her family.

Donna was born on May 13, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to Eugene D. Wood and Freda Webster Wood.

She was a woman of strength, grace, and boundless love, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As a mother, Donna was the heart and soul of her family. She dedicated her life to her children, ensuring they were nurtured, supported, and loved unconditionally. Her wisdom, kindness, and guidance shaped the lives of daughters Rachel Gist and Courtney (Carmy) Kent.

The laughter and fun we shared is priceless. She was also a devoted grandmother, delighted in the love and joy that her grandchildren brought into her life. Nana often said that being a grandmother was one of her greatest blessings, and she cherished the moments spent with Grayden McLaughlin and Austin & Manny Aguirre. Forced family fun is something we looked forward to and we will cherish the memories forever. Her legacy will live on in them, and they will carry her love with them always. Donna was also a beloved and cherished sister to Janis Wood Preslar and her late brother, Bobby Wood. The bond they shared was one of love, laughter, and support. Aunt Hen was a loving aunt who adored Luke, Mark and Ruth Preslar. In addition to her family, Donna had many close friends who will miss her greatly. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel special, and her friendship was a gift that they treasured. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and her unwavering support of those she loved. Her sense of humor and radiant smile were a constant source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. The family wishes to thank all those who have shown love and support during this difficult time. Your kind words and gestures have meant the world to us. If you would like to honor Donna, donations may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 2812 Swiss Ave., Dallas, TX 75204, an organization that was close to Donna’s heart because of her brother living with schizophrenia. Though we are heartbroken by her passing, we find comfort in the count- less beautiful memories she leaves behind. Donna will always be remembered for the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the many lives she touched. She was, and will forever remain, our guiding light. Rest in peace, Mom. We love you always
