Bobby Shomo

Bobby Shomo, age 63, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab. He was born on Tuesday, October 24, 1961, to Timothy Sr. and Effie Lou Peters Shomo in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Bobby was a strong, hardworking man who lived with love in his heart and faith as his guide. An outdoorsman at heart, he found peace in the woods deer hunting and joy in spending time with his new granddaughter. He was proud of his work, often tinkering with his post truck, and took great pride in his more than 30 years of hauling posts for Julian Sawmill. A true collector, Bobby had a knack for finding and treasuring many things, but nothing meant more to him than his family and his God. As a faithful member of NaYimmi Baptist Church in Broken Bow, his faith was evident in the way he lived. To his many friends, he was known simply and fondly as “Bobby Ducks,” a name that carried with it respect, friendship, and the memories of a life well lived.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, Channing Battiest; and one sister, Sandra Shomo.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Shomo of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; one son, Caleb Shomo of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his daughter, Chasity Aaron of Durant, Oklahoma; four brothers, Curtis Shomo of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Billy Shomo of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; Timothy Shomo Jr. of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Terry Shomo of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; three sisters, Debra Byassee of Idabel, Oklahoma, Lisa Weaver of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Bertha Grace of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Adelynn Mae Fichik Hadley of Durant, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
