Bette Jean Grogan (née Lowery), 96, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Allen, Texas, after a long illness. She was born to Mattie (Eakin) Lowery and C. J. “Choc” Lowery in Seminole, Seminole Nation (OK), and grew up in Ardmore, Chickasaw Nation. She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1947 and remained active in her alumni group throughout her life.
She enjoyed golfing, card games, socializing with friends, and taking cruises, among other activities.
Her husband, Kenneth Grogan, preceded her in death. She is survived by her two children, Ron Rowell and Kathy Barnett, and her two stepdaughters, Melinda Grant and Melissa McCaffrey; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was an enrolled citizen of the Choctaw Nation through her father, an original enrollee.
