DURANT, Okla. (April 1, 2025) – Ron Perry, who represented District 5 of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) on the Tribal Council resigned his office April 1. The resignation took effect immediately.

Perry, who was first elected in 2011, was serving as secretary of the Tribal Council.

Because there was more than one year remaining in Perry’s term, the CNO Constitution calls for a special election to be held to fill his seat. The position will remain open until the election.

Timing of the special election has not yet been determined.
