Wayne Thomas Hulsey

Wayne Thomas Hulsey was born July 12th, 1949, to Lemuel Virgil Hulsey, Jr. and Bernice Elizabeth Swanson Hulsey in New London, CT. After a difficult struggle with health issues, he passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ.

He was raised in Garvin County, OK and graduated from Pauls Valley High School at the age of 16.

Shortly thereafter, he moved to Anaheim, CA where he attended Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton. His education was interrupted by the US Army around 1969, but he was able to return to California following his service and continued his education throughout his adult life. His main field of study included art and photography. He also held a blackbelt in Kung Fu and he loved music of almost every genre. He was proud to be a tribal elder of the Choctaw Nation.

He is survived by a brother, Gary Hulsey, a half-sister, Lora Annette Hulsey, cousins Kim Bleck (Erwin) and Lora Mueller (Erwin). Wayne’s quiet, peaceful presence will be missed. May he Rest in Peace.
