Tribal member Scott Harris retired at the end of June as technology director of Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, Missouri, after 30 years in three school districts.
Harris was Miami, Oklahoma, Public Schools’ first technology director, serving 13 years, and was tech director of Neosho, Missouri, Public Schools for 13 years before becoming Springfield’s director in 2022.
He plans to return to Joplin, Missouri, to be closer to family and his granddaughter, Rosalind.
