Brenda Gay Holliday, born December 5, 1946, in Willits, California, to Critten Gardner Jr. and Eula Faye Gardner, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in her home surrounded by friends and family.
Brenda is survived by her children: Glenda Kelley and husband Mark of Savoy, Texas; Vicki Love and Michael of Moore, Oklahoma; Jerry Tubby of Cartwright, Oklahoma; Lewis Tubby and wife Mandy of Silo, Oklahoma; Jerome Tubby of Durant, Oklahoma; and Terry Lee Holiday of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Her grandchildren include Shailey Riley, Joshua Holliday, Caleb Holliday, Gabriel Holliday, Nicholas Bacon, Colby Bacon, Mason Love, JW Rubio, Lilly Rubio, Daisy Huffman, Harley Henry, Connie Tubby, Kostina Tubby, James Tubby, Jerome Liffick, Aubrey Holliday, Jorian Tubby, Jaxon Tubby, Kyzen Tubby, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Brenda is also survived by her siblings: Lyman Gardner, Noel Gardner, Nathan Gardner, Rebecca Rubio, and Sandy Hickman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Critten Gardner Jr. and Eula Faye Gardner.
Brenda worked for many years in restaurants, cafés, and the health field. She was a devoted member of Good Springs Church in Boswell, Oklahoma. Known for her quick wit, unforgettable laugh, and strong spirit, she embodied the resilience and grace of Choctaw women. Brenda faced every day with her chin out and chest forward, inspiring all who knew her.
Pallbearers for her service will be Nicholas Bacon, Colby Bacon, Mason Love, Jerome Tubby, Jorian Tubby, and Gabriel Holliday. Honorary pallbearers will include JW Rubio and James Tubby.
Brenda has passed from this world to the next, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. As we say in Choctaw, “Chi pisa la chike.”
